Self-care and election stress reduction

November 1, 2020

Dear MDECOE Community,

We are entering one of the most stressful election weeks ever, filled with uncertainty, anxiety, and fear that all will not go well. This is a critical time to engage in self-care and be mindful of what works best for each person to reduce stress and get through this unprecedented time. One option is to vote and engage in positive activism toward making this world a better place. Another is to be mindful of how much news is healthy, finding balance between exposure to this stressor and engaging in well-being activities. As one self-care alternative to election stress, SHERVIN BOLOORIAN (Iran/UK/USA), an award winning natural music artist, sound therapist, celebrated vocalist, and CSUN alum, will be offering a session entitled “Music as Activism” on Monday, 11/2/2020 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Shervin will perform music for deep relaxation, peace and connection, and have a discussion about his background and how music is a form of activism. This event is free and open to the CSUN community.
