COE Self-Care Fall 2018 Activities

August 20, 2018

Dear COE faculty and Staff,

Welcome back to the Fall 2018 semester and another year of self-care in our College of Education! This fall, we will be celebrating the many ways of meditating and how this can benefit our lives. Each month, we will offer a different type of meditation involving the senses, including aromatherapy, sound “baths”, mindful chocolate tasting, and stress reduction meditation. In addition, we will continue to offer a weekly meditation session with a new time on Wednesdays from 1-1:30 in the CTL conference room. More information will follow soon. In the meantime, please take a moment to read this wonderful article from the Los Angeles times on Forest Baths, which have been scientifically proven “as a way to reduce stress, improve mood and even boost the immune system.”

This activity is available at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden every first and third Saturday through Dec. 15, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Check it out!

May your semester be both productive and relaxing!

Warmly,

Shari
