COE Self-Care Activity Extra

July 30, 2018

We have two self-care activity extras to share with you as the summer winds down: 1. experiencing the healthy, soft sounds of ASMR videos, and 2. viewing video lectures or enrolling in a full online course on the science of well-being!

Have you heard about ASMR? It’s currently one of the biggest things on YouTube that you may never have heard of! Experience and learn about "autonomous sensory meridian response" and its tangible health benefits at https://www.discovery.com/#curiosity-301

At https://youtu.be/5Rs1B8V4vx0 hear Yale Psychology Professor Laurie Santos share information on her course “The Science of Well-Being;” audit free video lectures or take the online course!

“About this course: “The Science of Well-Being” taught by Professor Laurie Santos overviews what psychological science says about happiness. The purpose of the course is to not only learn what psychological research says about what makes us happy but also to put those strategies into practice. The first part of the course reveals misconceptions we have about happiness and the annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do. The next part of the course focuses on activities that have been proven to increase happiness along with strategies to build better habits. The last part of the course gives learners time, tips, and social support to work on the final assignment which asks learners to apply one wellness activity aka "Rewirement" into their lives for four weeks.”https://www.coursera.org/learn/the-science-of-well-being?utm_source=YALE&utm_medium=institutions&utm_campaign=201802-YouTube-SWB
