COE Self-Care Activities Week Five

February 27, 2015

Dear College of Education Staff and Faculty,
On Monday we begin week FIVE of our COE self-care program, with a total of 45 staff and faculty now having attended at least one of our four weekly activities. Our leaders bring innovative and fun activities to each session, and new staff and faculty continue to join as word of these terrific sessions spreads. Just take a look at next week's highlights below.

PREVIEW OF WEEK FIVE COE SELF-CARE ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHTS


 MONDAY, March 2nd, 12:15-12:30 in Ed 1216-Mindfulness Mondays meditation with Diane Gehart. Diane brings in a new concept to mindful meditation each week. Last week we did compassion meditation. Come find out what new mindful approach will be happening this week!

TUESDAY, March 3rd, 12:15-12:45 in Ed 1214/1216 -Tasty Tuesdays presentation with Ellen Bauersfeld. Ellen continues to inspire us with her presentations and handouts, and it's also been lots of fun. Week FIVE discussion topic is "How to eat smart or What everyone should know about fiber, cholesterol, and saturated fat!" The EPC Dept, will host lunch this week, so come join us and hear about healthy eating.

WEDNESDAY, March 4th, 12:15-12:45 in Ed 1214/1216-Workout Wednesdays with Emily, Michael, and Nico, our own "personal trainers" from Kinesiology. For week FIVE we will be taking another campus walk on a secret CSUN walking path for about a mile in length, so bring your tennies. Our last walk was really fun!

THURSDAY, March 5th, 12:15-12:45 in Ed 1214/1216-Thoughtful Thursdays Yoga with Jessica (Jess) Frank and interpreter Catherine (Cass) Kroener. Our class size continues to grow as our leader, Jess, guides us through yoga activities for varying skill levels. Stretch, relax, renew in this week FIVE session. We have extra yoga mats if you need one.
