COE Self-Care Activities Spring 2020 - Week 9

March 16, 2020

Dear COE staff and faculty,

What an unbelievable week we have been through dealing with the ever expanding impact of the corona virus. Unfortunately, this stressful crisis (yes we are in a crisis!) will likely continue for some time. Never have we needed to attend more to our own well-being and those around us. In addition to following the health precautions shared with the public already, please pay attention to yourselves and how you are doing physically and emotionally as staff, caretakers, and educators who are helping so many others during this challenging time. Make time to take care of yourselves. The following is a school-based article about the impact of crises on us and is applicable to the crisis we are facing now.

As CSUN has transitioned to virtual learning through April 19th, our self-care program will now go virtual as well. We will suspend live meditation sessions and self-care information sessions during this time; however, we have a wonderful self-care webpage with lots of articles and resources on many self-care topics, including managing stress, at

Please look at the link on this page for self-care apps and pay particular attention to an app with lots of meditation options for cell phones called insight timer https://insighttimer.com/

We will continue to send weekly emails on virtual self-care activities, which can be found on our  website at http://www.csun.edu/eisner-education/self-care

The College of Education self-care program will be offered virtually for the remainder of the Spring Semester.

Thank you for the tremendous work that you are all doing during this most challenging time. May you all remain safe and well.

Warmly,

Shari
