Fourth-Annual Rally in the Valley to Be Held in the CSUN Matadome Will Showcase Robotics Projects of Elementary School Students

California State University, Northridge Colleges of Engineering and Computer Science and Education will host the fourth-annual Rally in the Valley event on Saturday, May 6th in CSUN's Matadome. To date, over 14 schools are registered with almost 400 girls and boys to participate. The opening speaker for the program is expected to include CSUN's Dean Michael Spagna, among others from CSUN, LAUSD and the Los Angeles City Council. Read more

Kellogg Foundation Awards CSUN Grant to Tackle California’s Teacher Shortage

CSUN has been awarded a three-year grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for a teacher-preparation project aimed at increasing the number of men — particularly African-Americans, Asians and Latinos — who want to work in elementary education. CSUN elementary education professors Shartriya Collier-Stewart and David Kretschmer are leading the Future Minority Male Teachers of California Project, which will eventually involve five other CSU campuses in urban settings across the state.
