CSUN is proud to be one of the few institutions in the nation that offers a comprehensive undergraduate program in the field of Deaf Studies and has long been acknowledged as a leader in providing quality education in a variety of Deaf-related areas. A part of what makes CSUN unique is that it provides Deaf Studies majors with a variety of extra-curricular opportunities both on campus and off campus including membership in student organizations, interaction with approximately 150 Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students who attend this institution, access to the most extensive collection of resource materials related to the study of Deaf people and signed languages in the western United States, participation in a variety of events including workshops and lectures, ASL/Deaf Theatre productions, and exposure to a variety of related careers.
