Helen Hayter Quiroz

Helen Hayter Quiroz is a 20 hour/week staff interpreter for the Deaf Studies department.  She graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Speech and Hearing Sciences and was encouraged by Deaf friends to seek her career path in Washington, DC. At Gallaudet University, she then completed her MA in Deaf Education and concurrently pursued her passion in ASL/English Interpretation via informal training and mentoring at Gallaudet. She has been working at CSUN since 1996 and has experience in post-secondary academic interpreting and community interpreting and mentoring interpreters in Seattle, Washington, DC and Los Angeles. She enjoys road cycling, boogie boarding and international travel.
