Program Sponsor-Variable Term Waiver

The PS-VTW is only available to candidates who completed or will complete a program at the end of the following semesters: Spring 2020 - Summer 2021. 

The submission of the application for a Program Sponsor - Variable Term Waiver (PS-VTW) initiates a program evaluation and the formal credential recommendation for the PS-VTW by a Credential Analyst to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) via mail. Due to the sensitive information required on the application, applicants will need to submit their complete application packet via mail to the Credential Office. Please note applications must be postmarked no later than August 31, 2021, any applications postmarked with a later date will not be processed. 

Notification of Credential Recommendation and the evaluation results will be sent to the e-mail address provided on the application for the PS-VTW within approximately 10 business days from the submission date of the complete application. Once the credential recommendation has been submitted to CTC it will take approximately 3 - 4 months from the date of recommendation for CTC to process the credential document. NOTE: CTC has established an on-line Educator Page at (https://www.ctc.ca.gov) to check the status of pending credential applications.

Interns: The PS-VTW is not applicable for candidates working as interns, please contact the appropriate Credential Advisor to discuss your options.

Program Sponsor-Variable Term Waiver Application Process

PS-VTW Request Form: You will need to complete the PS-VTW request form to initiate the evaluation process to determine your eligibility. 

CTC Application Form: In addition to the PS-VTW request form, you will need to complete the CTC PS-VTW Application.  All applicants are required to complete sections 2, 5, 6 and 7. Do not complete sections 1, 3, 4 and 8. A Personal and Professional Fitness Explanation Form must accompany each YES answer in Section 5. The application must be free from errors and/or corrections (cross out or white out). Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant for completion and resubmission. 

Enrollment Request Form: You will need to complete the enrollment request form and submit with your packet. If it is determined you are eligible for the PS-VTW a Credential Analyst will sign the form granting you permission to enroll in the course. Please note, in order to process your PS-VTW application you will need to submit verification of enrollment. 

Submit Packet: You must mail the PS-VTW request form, the CTC PS-VTW application along with the application fee of $100 in form of money order or cashier’s check made payable to CTC, and the enrollment request form to the Credential Office.

After July 6th packets may be submitted in person to the Credential Office during days and hours of operation.
