ISinkwe: An Application That Synchronises Text and Audio

We present iSinkwe, a system to produce synchronized accessible text and audio books developed specifically to address reading barriers experienced by users with print disabilities such as dyslexia and visual impairment. iSinkwe is also particularly important for regions with low literacy, such as South Africa. This presentation briefly describes the motivation and context for its creation, the components that make up iSinkwe, a discussion on its relevance for the accessibility community, how users can interact with the system and future work on extending its functionality.
