This session will share the results of a survey conducted by the Technical Innovations Product Manager, Accessible Coding Product Manager, and STEM Product Specialist/Product Engagement Manager along with Cody Laplante from eye.t. This survey targeted computer science teachers and blind professionals to find out what tools they are using to prepare students to learn programming languages or in their work. The presenters will also discuss the current research in the field of low-vision and blindness as it pertains to computer programming, as well as what other gaps there may be when developing solutions for teaching computer programming and providing accessible tools for computer science professionals who are blind or visually impaired.
