Description
In calm water, every ship has a good captain. But to sustain itself in turbulent times, it requires a prepared one. Over the past few years, many technology enterprises have understood the importance of Accessibility, and have been focused on developing a Centre of Excellence internally. The rise in executive roles like CAO and Global Head of Accessibility in larger enterprises is a testament to the same. However, today’s products and services are increasingly complex. As that trend continues, Accessibility CoE needs to scale up the effort to provide more accessible ways to support key stakeholder teams like Legal, Sales, Product, and Procurement without impacting the budget and operational responsibilities. Accessibility CoE is the captain of the Accessibility ship in such organizations. It needs a standard and robust approach to ensure that its expertise in Accessibility research, design, engineering, program management, and assistive technologies, works effectively across the company to help teams build accessibility expertise, understand user needs and create great experiences that are inclusive products and easier for everyone to use. An approach we would like to call - "Minimalist", marked by clarity, purpose, and execution. The session would focus on elaborating different steps - team organization, request handling, and metrics collection of the Minimalist approach to ensure a steady rhythm of reporting and communications to manage Accessibility programs at scale.
