This session will cover how accessibility teams can partner with their company's employee or business resource groups (ERGs/BRGs) to grow advocacy, build executive sponsorship, and scale accessibility-related initiatives across the enterprise. Examples from the ERG partnerships built within the Cigna organization, primarily with the ABLE (Achieving Better Lives for Everyone) ERG which is focused on supporting caregivers and employees with disabilities will be shared. I will discuss how we’ve been able to collaborate with the ERG to stand up an executive level Digital Accessibility Steering Committee, socialize and provide training opportunities, and support implementation of an enterprise digital accessibility policy. I will provide actionable guidance on how to build connections and tips for what initiatives to prioritize depending on where an organization is at in their accessibility program maturity journey.
