Description

For decades support for individuals to live in the community has been provided primarily through the use of in-person caregiver support. With the rise in need, the cost of service and the lack of enough support professionals, a new model of service is needed. Ladd has developed a new mechanism for delivering community based services through the use of Technology Enabled Supports. This case study presentation showcases how LADD, an agency in Cincinnati that provides services to adults with disabilities, is using technology-enabled supports, wearable technology, and clusters of community housing to find solutions for the two largest barriers to receiving support: not enough funding and the national staffing crisis. For the last two years, LADD has embarked on it’s Smart Living Initiative to develop from the ground up an innovative new model for service delivery. During this session participants will begin to understand the methods LADD took to develop this model, some of the initial findings of the first year of data from the pilot and see videos of this model in action. Through this model Ladd is able to provide services to more individuals with disabilities, at a lower cost and with higher outcomes.
