Branding Guidelines: Components, Colors, and Character
- Date & Time
- Thursday, March 17, 2022 - 10:20 AM PST
- Location
- Grand GHJK
- Description
-
Branding guidelines are instructions on how to communicate important parts of a company's brand, including things like logos, colors, font choice and size, and graphics. Having brand guidelines creates continuity between all parts of a business, so that every product or message is identified as part of a whole. However, brand guidelines can also be a great place to incorporate company-wide mandates for accessibility, such as appropriate color choice and the look and feel of web components.
We will provide a short problem statement around common types of web accessibility issues that can occur without brand guidelines. This includes text color contrast deficiencies as well as assistive technology problems with custom UI components. We will discuss our approach to the accessibility sections of our brand guidelines and share our successful strategies for implementation.
