Description

It goes without saying that the educational landscape has changed dramatically in the last few years. With the shift to remote and hybrid learning, educators and students face new challenges when it comes to making classroom materials and workflows digital, maintaining communication, and keeping learners engaged. This can be particularly challenging when it comes to supporting diverse learners across all subject areas. Luckily, Texthelp offers the trifecta of software solutions that work together in perfect harmony to help. This session will explore Read&Write, EquatIO and OrbitDoc, and how they come together to make all subjects accessible to all.

Read and Write

Read&Write is an all-in-one literacy toolbar that supports students with reading, writing, studying, productivity and independence. It provides powerful assistive technology tools that work wherever you work, making all content more accessible.

Read&Write’s text to speech allows students to hear documents and webpages read aloud, with natural sounding voices and highlighting to follow along with words as they’re read. Talking and picture dictionaries provide text definitions and image representations of words to support vocabulary and comprehension. And writing supports like word prediction and dictation allow students to express themselves with more accuracy and ease. Read&Write’s extensive suite of literacy supports offers something for all learners, and it works right inside the environments they’re already learning in - from Google Docs, to Learning Management Systems, to Microsoft Word and anywhere in between. It can also be used with Texthelp’s EquatIO® to read math and STEM content aloud.

EquatIO

EquatIO is an innovative Math and STEM software tool that helps to level the math playing field for students, professors, and disabilities services departments by making it easy to create math that is both digital and accessible. EquatIO disrupts how math is both taught and learned, working across learning styles and environments.

EquatIO was built on Universal Design for Learning principles, helping to guide the development for all learners and accommodating many different learning styles. Not only does EquatIO work across all platforms and many Learning Management Systems, it works inside our brand-new product OrbitDoc. OrbitDoc, in conjunction with EquatIO, now makes it easier than ever to include your STEM curriculum into digital and accessible assignments.

OrbitDoc

Texthelp’s newest solution, OrbitDoc transforms the way teachers and students experience documents - from PDF worksheets, to scanned textbook chapters, to stacks of classroom papers. OrbitDoc makes it easy for teachers to create assignments and share them with students using Google Classroom and popular Learning Management Systems. Students can then use OrbitDoc’s annotation tools to write, record audio, highlight and draw to complete their work and demonstrate their understanding. And teachers can review student work and provide text and voice feedback.

OrbitDoc not only makes assignments and worksheets digital, but it also makes them accessible. Photos and scans of paper documents can be made accessible and readable with one click, which is so vital for all learners especially those who rely on assistive technologies to help them be successful and independent.
