California State University, Northridge and Friends of the Oviatt Library cordially invite you to the San Fernando Valley Award for Fiction Reception to honor Chiara Barzini, author of Things That Happened Before the Earthquake.
“Chiara Barzini impressed this year’s selection committee with her provocative narrative and beautifully written prose,” said Mark Stover, Dean of CSUN’s Oviatt Library. “Her teenaged tale of pre-tremblor days in the Valley made for a memorable read. Barzini’s talent is apparent from the very first page, and we are pleased to present this award to her.”
RSVP by August 30 at: https://library.csun.edu/events/sfv-award-2019, or call (818) 677-2638. The award reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Persons with disabilities needing assistance and deaf and hard of hearing persons needing interpreters, please call (818) 677-2638 in advance for arrangements.
