Professor Nina Golden and Business Law Students Attend the Extraordinary Women in Leadership Luncheon

Professor Nina Golden and students in her Women and the Law class attended the college’s first “Extraordinary Women in Leadership Luncheon” on Tuesday, November 19th at the Garland Hotel in North Hollywood.  Attendees had the opportunity to hear from keynote speaker Maryam Brown, President of Southern California Gas Co., California Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, and other leading businesswomen from different fields, as they shared their experiences and perspectives on what it takes to overcome challenges and succeed in their respective industries.  Other panelists included Deanna Austin, Chief Commercial Officer of Princess Cruises; Nury Martinez, Councilwoman for the Sixth District of Los Angeles; and Rashmi Menon, Vice President of Parsons Corporation.  Following the luncheon, Professor Golden commented: “What a wonderful opportunity for our students to hear the perspectives of intelligent, dedicated, successful women on issues they’ve learned about in the classroom and that are relevant to their everyday lives.”
