The Business Law Department and Beta Gamma Sigma hosted a well-attended campus screening of “The Great Cookie Comeback” on November 18th. The film tells the story of Wally Amos, who built and lost one of the most popular brands in history – Famous Amos Cookies. After the film, Emmy-winning director Jeff MacIntyre answered questions and had a lively discussion with the students about the lessons to be learned from Wally’s story. Business Law Professor Flugge Goyer, faculty advisor to Beta Gamma Sigma, commented: “The film was a great case study for students to see that, no matter how good your product, without solid business planning and careful contract making, you may not succeed. Wally could have been rolling in the dough, instead his cookie empire crumbled.”
