Accounting and Information Systems Alumni Chapter

The Accounting and Information Systems Alumni Chapter is a network of business professionals working toward a common goal of reaching out and meeting the needs of the members of our Accounting and Information Systems, CSUN and the community. 

President's Message:

On behalf of the Accounting and Information Systems Alumni Association, I would like to thank you for visiting our website. This chapter of the CSUN Alumni Association was formed with the intent to act as an intermediary between:
  1. Alumni and Students;
  2. Alumni and the Department; and
  3. Alumni and Alumni
We plan events throughout the year and hope that we offer something that may be of interest to you either socially, professionally or academically.

Chapter Board

Adam Miller, President
Adam Miller graduated from CSUN in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Miller arrived at CSUN as a transfer student and quickly learned the great value of being active on campus. He first began to volunteer through campus leadership positions and joined Beta Alpha Psi — CSUN’s Accounting Honor Society. Miller’s numerous efforts with Beta Alpha Psi and the Accounting & Information Systems (AIS) Alumni Chapter include mentoring, encouraging students to take active leadership roles, and offering resume and interview tips.  He frequents CSUN as a guest speaker to present on business ethics, soft skills development and community involvement.  Miller is also actively working to reinvigorate the AIS Chapter Alumni Association. Miller currently works at Ernst & Young (EY) as a manager in the assurance practice. 

Celine Mousses, First Vice President
Celine joined the board in 2017 and serves as a Vice President. Celine graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors in Science in Professional Accountancy. During her time at CSUN, she served on the executive board of Beta Alpha Psi and as a member of the Accounting Association. After graduating, Celine joined Deloitte in their Assurance practice and later moved to CohnReznick LLP and is currently an Experienced Senior Associate at the Firm’s Assurance department.

Maria Patron, VP of Activities
Maria Patron graduated from CSUN in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration- Accounting Theory and Practice. Maria became involved with the Accounting Association and VITA, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Maria first started helping as a tax preparer and then helped out as a supervisor. Maria is a past President of the Accounting and IS Alumni Association. She has been volunteering for the past 18 years in several different positions. Maria believes in giving back to the university since Maria received so much form CSUN. Maria and her husband, a CSUN alum have established an Alumni Award that benefits a CSUN Accounting or IS student every year. Maria returned to CSUN to complete a teaching credential program. She is currently employed as an elementary school teacher at Fenton Primary Center. Maria later received a Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Maria also volunteers in different capacities at St. Elisabeth of Hungary. Maria enjoys running marathons (11 so far including 5 LA Marathons) and traveling with family.

Carlos Patron, VP of Membership
Carlos graduated with a B.S. in Information Systems from CSUN, then later attained his Master of Business Administration / Technology Management from University of Phoenix Online in 2006. While at CSUN, he was active in MISA, being President for two semesters.  During his tenure was the first year that MISA sent participants to the Annual Information Technology Competition (ITC) at Cal Poly Pomona. Carlos is currently a Regional Project Manager with Kaiser Permanente in Southern California with projects related to Medical Imaging. Carlos met his wife at an Alumni Ski Outing.  They both run Marathons and enjoy going on long road trips.

Peter Genovese, VP of Marketing
Peter Genovese earned a degree in Information Systems and upon graduation, became a lifetime member of the CSUN Alumni Association. He took his connection to the next level by annually providing mentorship for CSUN students as a regular guest speaker for MISA (Management Information Systems Association) — a club he was a member of while a student. He has served on the board for the Accounting & Information Systems (AIS) Alumni Chapter since 2017 and currently holds the position of Vice President of Marketing. Genovese helped provide a pathway to students in the field by placing them in internships. Some eventually became hired for full-time jobs once they graduated. Genovese also donated to help the university create and place The Matador statue on campus. Upon graduation from CSUN in 2005, his professional career began in the life sciences industry when he landed a job at Amgen. He recently transitioned into the Entertainment industry with Crown Media (The Hallmark Channel), where he is a Business Applications Specialist.

Sarah Salim, Secretary/Treasurer
Sarah Salim joined the Accounting and Information Systems Alumni Chapter in 2017 is currently serving as the secretary. She graduated in 2016, with Bachelors of Science in Professional Accountancy. During her time at CSUN she served on the executive board of the Accounting Association, and was actively involved in multiple student organizations. After graduating, Sarah joined CohnReznick, LLP as an assurance associate, where she continues to grow as a professional and works towards her career goals.

Merat Nematzadeh, Historian
Merat Nematzadeh joined the Accounting & Information Systems Alumni Chapter in 2018. She graduated in 2016 with Bachelor Degree in Information Systems Management. She would like to help and support a network of current and former graduates in this chapter.

Enrico Pena, Past President Advisor
Enrico Pena is a past President and Historian of the chapter. He graduated from California State University Northridge, in 1986, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Option: Accounting Theory and Practice. He was active in the Accounting Association as a Director. Plus, was in the Volunteer Tax Assistance(VITA) program. He worked for over ten years as an Auditor with the Federal Government in the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia. He currently works on the Government Compliance Team at Harris Corporation in Van Nuys. He also is very active in Toastmasters. He was District Governor 2001-2002 (the year of 9 /11) and led the District to Select Distinguished Status (#11 in the World). He occasionally takes pictures and also sings in the Our Lady of Peace English choir in North Hills.
