California State University System May Keep Online Options

Cal State Northridge is planning for about a 50 percent in-person class return, while Cal State Fullerton will see about a 65 percent to 75 percent return. San Diego State University plans to reopen in-person learning to about 85 percent to 90 percent, whereas Cal State Long Beach will resume in-person classes at about 45 percent. Up north, Chico State is planning for a 65 percent return. Some universities, including Cal State L.A., are still in flux and declined to release their in-person reopening percentages. -- Government Technology

The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) achieves eligibility in applying for U.S. Accreditation

The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) became the first University in the Kingdom to achieve eligibility to proceed with an Application for Accreditation with the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). This is one of the highest levels of quality assurance, and once awarded, AUBH would become the first and only higher education institution to be accredited by WSCUC in Kingdom. The University would also be among two other universities (both based in the UAE) to be accredited in the MENA and GCC regions, and the sole ten Universities accredited by WSCUC worldwide. U.S.-based universities accredited by the accreditor include Stanford University, University of California Berkeley, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and California State University, Northridge (CSUN). -- Bahrain This Week

LUSD awards first Grit Scholarship Award

Dr. Armine Hacopian Elected GCC Board President

It is important to note that Dr. Hacopian has been a life-long educator who holds a BA, two MA’s, six credentials, and a doctorate in Organizational Management and Educational Administration. She has been a teacher, counselor, ESL Specialist, program administrator in K-12 for LAUSD, BUSD, and GUSD. In addition, she has taught at CLU, CSULA, and CSUN graduate schools in public policy, teacher training, and counseling programs. She continues to serve on thesis and doctoral dissertation committees which has become a platform for her through which she encourages students to earn advanced degrees. Also, she served on the Western Prelacy Board of Regents for many years. -- Asbarez
