ON-LINE BOOK LAUNCH: Blue Eyed Dog
Christopher Taylor was born in a working class community in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. He received a scholarship to California State University, Northridge, where he majored in Pan African Studies and a minor in literature with aspirations to study civic law. His dreams were thwarted when he was given the diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurological disease in his senior year. At twenty-one, he was given the prognosis of three to five years of life. Nevertheless, Christopher continued his pursuit of higher education completing his under-graduate degree and continued onto graduate school at the University of California, Los Angeles. After a couple of physical setbacks from the ravishing effects of ALS that left him almost in a state of complete paralysis, Christopher began working on his first novel, A Gathering of Souls, using voice-to-text software. When his voice failed, he began typing with an one finger adaptive switch that took hours to complete a single page. When his fingers failed, technology came to his rescue again. This time with eye-gaze software developed by Tobii. He wrote and completed Blue Eyed Dog with this system. Christopher currently resides in Los Angeles where he continues to work on writing projects and advocacy for ALS survivors. -- AllEvents
