GOLDEN LEAF RAGTIME BLUES To Take The Stage In A New Form at Shakespeare & Company This October

Logan Slater was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and began in the performing arts as a child, singing with the Hillcrest Christian School choir. After graduating from California State University, Northridge with a degree in film production, he decided to further his studies; but this time, focusing on acting. Slater has studied with Carl Ford, Lesly Kahn, and Gregory Berger-Sobeck, and is an alumnus of 2020's Month-long Intensive at Shakespeare & Company. Some of his recent roles include playing Jeff in You Have a Visitor, which won Best Horror and Best Cinematography at the Los Angeles Film Awards, and Troy Boy in Home Soon, an official selection at the San Francisco Black Film Festival. Recently, Slater completed courses at Magdalen College, Oxford University where he continued to deepen his skills as an actor with the British American Dramatic Academy (BADA). --Broadway World

Latino Heritage Parade and Festival Scheduled For Saturday, Oct. 1

The parade’s grand marshal is Liliana Pérez, cultural affairs director for the Los Angeles Chargers, and the community grand marshal is Yoland Trevino, founder and executive director of Pasadena/Altadena Coalition of Transformative Leaders (PACTL). Pérez’s role with the Chargers involves building strategic partnerships within California's dynamic and versatile economic, cultural and social sectors. Prior to joining the Chargers, Pérez worked in the public sector, holding senior leadership roles in the offices of six speakers of the California Assembly, including then-Speaker Emeritus of the California Assembly, Antonio R. Villaraigosa. She has been recognized for her advocacy work on behalf of marginalized populations including the LGBTQ community, immigrants and women. Pérez remains passionate about social justice and civil rights causes, and is active with numerous organizations. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Pérez immigrated to Los Angeles in 1971 and attended California State University, Northridge.
