CSUN’s Exclusive John Singleton Exhibit Inspires Fall ’23 Cinematheque

CSUN Cinematheque will present the film series, “John Singleton & the Auteurs that Inspired Him,” beginning Wednesday, Sept. 20. The series is inspired by a standing exhibition of the late filmmaker’s private vintage foreign poster collection on display at California State University, Northridge. -- SCV News

Hollywood Foreign Press Awards Grants

Each year, nearly 20% of cinema/TV students transfer to four-year schools, including as California State University, Northridge, California State University, Los Angeles, the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. Many students receive their vocational certificates and transition directly into lifelong careers in the entertainment industry, adding new diverse voices to the field, according to the school. -- Los Angeles Business Journal

Food drive for CSUN Food Pantry: The Community Concerns Committee at First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills holds a non-perishable food drive to help stock the food pantry at Cal State University, Northridge, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and also 8:30-11 a.m. Sept. 24. The pantry benefits students who do not have much income for food while school is in session. Current needs: canned or boxed food items and hygiene items. No glass containers or past-date items.
