Farrar Highfield, the daughter of the founding doctor of the hospital, Dr. Henry Farrar. Celebration of Life: Mae Pendleton Cowan
In 1981 she left the public school system and started a consulting firm specializing in social motivation and communication skills. Clients included Los Angeles Police Department and the Pasadena Ceta Program. Although the business was a success, Mae’s passion was education, as such, she obtained a teaching position at California State University Northridge. In 1984 Dr. Cowan was employed by Pacific Oaks College. Here she became the first African American Director and Advisor of the Credential Program and initialized programs such as the CBEST workshop and the C.A.P. program. -- Los Angeles Sentinel
New Artistic Leadership To Helm Los Angeles' Celebration Theatre
Brittney S. Wheeler, an award-winning performer, classically-trained singer, and future college theatre educator born and bred in Los Angeles has been fortunate enough to perform all across Southern California. Previously serving as the theatre's Casting Associate for its resident Casting Director, Jami Rudofsky, Wheeler has considered Celebration Theatre to be a life-changing part of her artistic world since 2012, when she joined the cast of the hit production of The Color Purple, A New Musical. A proud member of Actors' Equity, Brittney S.
