Animation Educators Forum Names 2023 Hall of Fame Inductees

Bill Matthews (1932-2022) Animator — Bill worked at Disney on Sleeping Beauty (1959) and on The Mickey Mouse Club. He also worked for the Jet Propulsion Lab creating instructional films. He taught animation at Sheridan College, California State University Northridge, Van Film Arts and Woodbury University. During the 1980s and ’90s he ran Disney Feature Animation’s recruiting and training division. -- Animation Magazine

CELEBRATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF DISNEY’S ALADDIN AND MORE AT THE SORAYA THIS SPRING

Thirty years has passed since Disney took us on a magic carpet ride with the release of its animated feature Aladdin. Many who enjoyed the Academy Award-winning movie for the first time as kids now have their own kids who will it, too. Hart District Awarded $240,000 for Teacher Credentialing Program

The Hart District is partnering with California State University, Northridge and the University of Massachusetts Global in the implementation of this grant. Classified employees will be able to use the awarded grant funds for tuition at those two universities. -- SCV News

CSUN, Law Enforcement Partner to Produce Fentanyl PSA

California State University, Northridge film students, along with faculty and alumni have produced a public service announcement to address the ongoing fentanyl crisis and educate the public about the dangers of fentanyl pills. This PSA was made in partnership with the United States Attorney’s Office Central District of California, the Drug Enforcement Administration Los Angeles Division and the District Attorney’s Offices of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. -- SCV News
