Class act: From the San Fernando Valley to LA to Redlands, there’s lots of music on tap

Then, the Colburn Orchestra, one of the nation’s premier conservatory ensembles, appears at Cal State Northridge’s Valley Performing Arts Center on April 2 in a free performance. Ludovic Morlot, music director of the Seattle Symphony, will lead the Colburn ensemble in Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fantastique” and Bizet’s “A Carmen Fantasy” as arranged by Frank Proto, with Mik-young Soung, double bass, as soloist. -- Long Beach Press-Telegram
