Sac State record-setter’s work ethic pays off.
Darin Johnson, who played at Franklin and Sheldon high schools before two college stops, went 12th overall to the Delaware 87ers. A 6-5 guard, Johnson started his collegiate career at Washington and finished at Cal State Northridge, where he averaged 13.8 points last season. In my eyes, the trio of Johnson, Abbott and Gilligan probably stand as the prospects most likely to fight for those final spots. Obviously, Johnson the most likely player due to him being selected with the 12th overall pick. During his lone season at Cal-State Northridge, he impressed by putting up 13.8 points on 46% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc. Johnson began his collegiate career with the Washington Huskies in 2013, but transferred to Cal State-Northridge following his sophomore season.
