The box score shows Collin Welp led UC Irvine (7-5) with 18 points and seven rebounds in the Anteaters’ 74-68 victory over Kent State on Monday in El Paso, Texas. It also shows Brad Greene, a 6-11 junior center, had a heck of a game. He scored 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field, grabbed five rebounds, blocked a shot and made a steal in 23 minutes. … Although Long Beach State lost 87-76 at USC on Sunday, LBSU represented itself well against a Trojans team that is 9-2. Sophomore guard Chance Hunter scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including a 4-of-8 mark from 3-point range. In LBSU’s previous game – a 65-46 home loss to Pacific eight days earlier – Hunter was 0 of 6 from the field and did not score. He leads Long Beach with a 14.5 scoring average. … Junior guard Terrell Gomez of CSUN (2-8) leads the Big West in scoring at 22.6 ppg. … Long Beach State freshman Joshua Morgan, who is 6-11, leads the conference in blocked shots at 2.1 per game. … Callum McCrae, a 7-1 sophomore center for UC Riverside (7-4), is second in rebounding at 7.6 per game. -- Los Angeles Daily News
