Due to an ill-advised law suit between the University and the Faculty Union, the mechanism for funding independent studies has been abolished as of Spring 2010. As a result, I can no longer offer independent studies.
I am extremely sorry that this state of affairs has come to pass. Students are now being deprived of opportunities to develop their interests, achieve deeper learning, and benefit from faculty mentoring. These developments damage student learning, undermine the position of CSUN faculty members, and run contrary to the mission of the University.
