Provost’s Message

Hello Colleagues,

Welcome back to campus!  I have heard from many of you who are just as pleased as I am to again enjoy the opportunity for camaraderie with co-workers, walks on our beautiful campus, and the many advantages of in-person instruction.  With the waning of Omicron, the widespread availability of vaccines, safety precautions, and a better understanding of how COVID is transmitted, we can enjoy the spring semester with confidence.

This issue of the Provost's Newsletter includes news of several upcoming events in Academic Affairs, as well as updates on the return to campus and The Road Map to the Future.

Be well!

Mary Beth Walker, Ph.D.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Road Map to the Future

Faculty, Staff and Students Help Chart the Course for CSUN

Now is your opportunity to take part in The Road Map to the Future, an inclusive process based on the themes of President Beck’s 100-day listening tour to determine campus priorities and frame big ideas.  Provost Mary Beth Walker and the Road Map to the Future Steering Committee invite your participation in facilitated discussions designed to identify strategic directions that emanate from our unwavering commitment to inclusive excellence.  Your input is highly valued and will help to inform the Road Map plan, taking CSUN to the next level and transforming our future.

The Road Map to the Future seeks community input on five themes from the President's 100-Day Listening Tour: 1. Standing in Our Values of Equity, Inclusion, and Justice; 2. Commitment to the Overall Success of Students; 3. Academic Excellence; 4. Sharing Culture and Fostering Community; and 5. Strengthening Community Connections.  See this webpage for more information on how to participate in discussions and surveys. Get involved, share your ideas, and make a difference for CSUN.
