At the Perceptual Stage the child recognizes categories of things in the environment.
4. Perceptual: When the child has solved the problem, as we discussed in the last section, we have reached the Perceptual Stage.
Now he world, as he/she can encounter it is divided up into categories, with symbols to represent them--shoes, dogs, boats and so forth.
I like to call these palpable categories “percepts.”
