Expectancies can rearrange sentences to be the way we think they should be.
In the right column is a cat. Do you see anything peculiar or incorrect in that picture about the phrase, “THE CAT SAT ON THE MAT.” You may not have noticed that the word “THE“ is repeated twice. Our expectancy is that it would only occur once, and so this is what we see.
