AUDITORY SHORT TERM MEMORY
(Exerpts from the ITPA Test)

The following demonstration provides one approach to testing for, what I would call, perceptual short term memory. These excerpts were taken from the ITPA. In the ITPA each digit is presented at the rate of one per half second. It is important to maintain this rate to keep the validity for testing purposes. Here is an exampe of some of the shorter test digits--from 3 to 6 numbers in length.

The Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities (ITPA), Revised Edition, was developed by Samuel A Kirk, James J. McCarthy, and Winifred D. Kirk, and first publishd by the University of Illinois Press, Chicago, in1968.
