Math 250  Vector Calculus
Monday, Wednesday Spring 2022



This is the third semester calculus course at CSUN.  The general topic, vector calculus, is an essential part of the physical sciences and engineering, as well as mathematics. This course will extend the ideas and methods of first year calculus to functions of several variables. Topics include partial derivatives and their applications, multiple integrals, Green's theorem, the Divergence Theorem, and Stokes Theorem.

Grading There will be three midterm exams, and one final exam.  The final exam will be cumulative. Each midterm will be worth 100 points and the final exam will be worth 130 points. The dates of all tests will be announced in class.  Plus grades (+) and minus grades (–) will be assigned.  Class participation will resolve boderline cases.

Final Exam: Monday, May 16, 2022, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Homework Practice problems will be assigned for each section. It is important to complete or at least attempt all problems before the next class meeting.  Tests will be based largely on the homework and can include exact homework problems. Students are encouraged to work together outside of class.  Students should purchase access to homework problems online from mymathlab.com.  The course I.D. is klein14609.

 Calculators are not permitted for any exam in this course.  Also not allowed are cell phones, electronic devices of any kind, or headware (except for religious purposes).

Please arrive on time and avoid leaving early.  No text messaging.  Cell phones should be turned off during class and all exams and quizzes.  Seats may be reassigned during exams, and you must leave your ID on top of the desk.  You will need to turn in an exam or quiz if you leave the room, so go to the bathroom beforehand.  Academic Dishonesty is covered in Appendix C of the CSUN catalog.
