Research Paper - Final Draft

Though you have been working on this assignment all semester, there are a few things that need to be double checked prior to submitting the final draft of a paper...

 

Requirements.

The final product you will produce for this class will be a 15 to 20 page research paper. It may be scientific, social scientific or humanities based.

Listed below are the items that must be in your paper in order to receive a passing grade.

  1. A title Page
  2. A table of contents
  3. An abstract
  4. An introduction that explains the necessity of the research and includes a hypothesis or a thesis statement. Additional, related research questions are also encouraged.
  5. A literature review that places your research effort in the context of existing research on the topic, related topics or methods.
  6. A well considered, cogent argument or scientific test.
  7. A conclusion that explains the significance of your findings, or links the argument you've made to the initial hypothesis, thesis statement and/or research questions.
  8. A reference section or bibliography.

Rubric

The link below will take you to a rubric (MS Word) used to evaluate the quality of the final paper. It may be used by your instructor to assign a final grade for the paper as well. This rubric may prove useful to you as you construct your paper if you use it to honestly evaluate the quality of your grammar, syntax, argument, graphics, organization, etc.
