Dr. Mehler worked in private industry for about 20 years, primarily designing digital integrated circuits, before joining the CSUN faculty. He was among the first in the world to design digital components with Verilog and synthesis, starting at the IBM Research Center in the 1980's. He has also done a variety of microcontroller and board level design projects.
He holds a BS in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MS in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas.
He is the author of "Digital Integrated Circuit Design Using Verilog and SystemVerilog," published by Elsevier in 2014.
