Guidelines for The Betty Newsletter Bi-Monthly Submissions

    The Betty Newsletter is a copyrighted newsletter plagiarism will not be accepted. Plagiarism is defined as: Intentionally or knowingly representing the words, ideas, or work of another as one's own in any academic exercise. If we find you have plagiarized your article we will send it back to you, ask you to re-write the article and use citations.
    In order to ensure that our newsletter is valuable and read, I have compiled the following guidelines for individuals making contribution(s).

1. The word minimum is 275. The word maximum is 700.

2. The goal is for the newsletter to be published by noon every other Wednesday of each month, with the understanding that the schedule may need to be adjusted slightly during certain months because of holidays or other scheduling conflicts.

3. We will be looking for articles for
The Betty newsletter at all times.

4. If you are having difficulty thinking of Family and Consumer Sciences (that is a big list) things to write about please follow this link
The Betty Newsletter articles written, or feel free to e-mail one of our editors and ask about some suggestions.

5. What type of article(s) does
The Betty
want? We are glad you asked. We like personal opinion, research based, narratives, “How To,” interviews, favorite professors and, sometimes-silly things like “Elderly Fashion.” We are really open to the type of articles we will accept. Please have fun with this!

6. We only accept articles through e-mail.

7. When your article is received we will send you an e-mail within 48 hours letting you know your article will be published.

8. Writers (that is you) are solely responsible for your article’s content; please try to include a resource where you found your information. It is OK if you do not cite correctly.

9. We reserve the right to change your article and/or its title.

10. PLEASE do not format your article however, the article can be sent as a Word attachment or in the body of an e-mail.

11. Please include your full name (or you can choose to remain Anonymous), the option you are in in FCS, your year (i.e., Junior) and a picture of your gorgeous self if you want it included.

    The completed newsletter is always available on The Betty Newsletter page. Please share the link with anyone who you feel might be interested. If you have any questions or comments, then please contact me
