• Boundary: The physical extents to which a network extends. (global + space for internet)

  • Todays boundarys are becoming more and more dynamic

• Ownership: Very difficult to tell who owns a particular piece of equipment in a dynamic boundary.

• Control: Without ownership knowledge it is also difficult to assign authority to equipment.
