The Alpha:
Nachdem wir das Tal des Todes berlebt hatten fuhren wir nach Arizona zum eigentlichen Anfang der "vier Ecken, 2013" Reise. Wir bernchteten in Winslow, Arizona auf Route 66. While there is precious little to see these days of the famous "mother road", ther is a commemorative marker on "the corner..." commemorated by Fleetwood Mac. Actually we were more interested in getting good food and sleep at La Posada - one of my favorite hotels. |

La Posada La Posada began as a Harvey House, designed by Mary Jane Coulter who not only designed the hotel, but pretty much everything that was (is) inside. |

The End: Having (barely) survived the mob scene at the Grand Canyon, we decided to drive to Kingman, AZ via Sedona, Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot, National Monument. It was an excellent decision. We did not stop in Sedona (lack of time) but admired the scenery during the drive. The red rocks are always red rocks, but miracoulosly, they are different every time! |

It looks like a lovely little lake across from Tuzigoot, but actually it is a tailing pit left overver from the copper mining days at Jerome |
