Webmail Corporate Edition Known Issues

On Thursday morning, July 20th a new version of Webmail (Webmail Corporate Edition) was introduced to Faculty and Staff members.   Since its release, the following "Known Issues" have been discovered or reported.

  1. The "Quota" information presented within Webmail Corporate Edition reflects each user´s final quota limit. The final quota limit includes the quotapolicy defined limit plus 25% of that amount for overdraft protection.
  2. Intermittent sluggishness and⁄or freezing when attaching files to messages or forwarding messages.
  3. Printing in Mozilla based browsers such as Firefox results in only the first page printing. Subsequent pages do not print.
  4. Printing within Microsoft Internet Explorer may not work correctly; the right side of the page may run off the printable area, resulting in areas around the right margin of the page not printing.
  5. Email messages which contain certain unknown encoded character strings in the subject line can cause that message and other messages contained within the same message folder to NOT appear. There is currently no fix for this problem although the campus´ mail system vendor is working on a solution. As a temporary workaround, use Webmail Standard if this problem occurs for you.
  6. When opening a message, there may be no "Reply" or "Forward" buttons at the top of the page. Restarting your web browser typically temporarily resolves this problem.
  7. Seemingly randomly, when opening a message that would normally result in a scroll bar being present to allow for viewing the entire message, no vertical "scroll" bar appears on the right side of the open window. This prevents you from scrolling up and down to view the entire message. A temporary workaround to this issue is to "maximize" your web browser window so that it fills the entire screen, and then restore the window to the previous state.
  8. Seemingly randomly, when opening a message that would normally result in buttons such as "Delete", "Previous, "Next", "Reply", and "Forward" appearing at the top of the new message, none of the buttons appears. This prevents you from being able to perform any of the aforementioned actions. A temporary workaround to this issue is to "maximize" your web browser window so that it fills the entire screen, and then restore the window to the previous state.
  9. Webmail Corporate Edition appears not to work with the Opera Web Browser on either platform (PC or Mac).
  10. Webmail Corporate Edition appears not to work with the Internet Explorer Web Browser on a Macintosh.
  11. When attempting to add a person to your Contact list by using the "Add to Contacts" option from within an already opened email message, you will be logged out of Webmail Corporate Edition and presented with the error message stating "You session has timed out." Until this is fixed, to add a person to your contact list, select "Contacts" from the main window and select "New´.
  12. When accessing Webmail Corporate Edition using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7, if there are fewer than 20 messages in your folder (the Inbox for example), none of the messages will display on the screen. If there are more than 20 messages, they will all display normally. If you are encountering this problem, you can either use a different web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, or you can use the old Standard version of WebMail, which does work correctly with Internet Explorer version 7.

If you experiencing a problem while using Webmail Corporate Edition, please contact the University Help Desk at x1400 or by email to helpdesk@csun.edu. To provide general feedback regarding Webmail Corporate Edition, please send an email to webmailfeedback@csun.edu
