2008 - Behzad Bavarian received "The Engineers' Council John J. Guarrera Engineering Educator of the Year Award". This award was presented by S. K. Ramesh, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at CSUN.

Recipient of the 2005 CSUN Faculty Award for Outstanding Faculty.  The award honors faculty members with an extraordinary record of contribution to the learning experience of their students and to their discipline. To qualify for this award, a faculty member must demonstrate (1) distinguished teaching, counseling or librarianship and (2) a distinguished record of professional accomplishment in the form of scholarly publications, creative accomplishments or service.
