Documents and Disclosures

As a tax-exempt organization, the University Student Union (USU) must make the appropriate organizational documents available for inspection online or for copying at the corporation's administrative office during normal business hours. We have made our best effort to ensure that the documents posted on the Web site are the most recent versions of the USU's financial statements and disclosure documents. Links to pages containing this information have been provided below.

Student Fees

The University Student Union (USU) at CSUN includes the Student Recreation Center, Oasis Wellness Center, Pride Center (LGBTQ+), Veterans Resource Center, Games Room, Computer Lab, USU Events, Plaza del Sol Performance Hall, the Northridge Center and the East Conference Center. The USU fosters the achievement of students’ educational goals by facilitating a strong connection between students and the University community.

The University Student Union is committed to optimizing the student experience at CSUN by engaging them through events, recreation, wellness, employment and volunteer opportunities. At the USU, students will find dining options, operated by The University Corporation (another campus auxiliary organization) including Subway, the Pub Sports Grill, Freudian Sip coffee shop, Shake Smart, and the Mercado convenience store, as well as ATMs, the A.S. Ticket Office, free printing, and a wide range of meeting and study spaces.

The following student services are also located in the University Student Union: Associated Students (A.S.), DREAM Center, Office of Student Development (OSID), Matador Involvement Center (MIC) and the International & Exchange Student Center (IESC).

Each CSUN student pays a student union fee of $311 per semester and $184 each summer to support the many programs and services provided to students. The USU is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation with a student-led board of directors. Students cannot opt out of the student union fee.

Visit our informative “Where Do Your Fees Go?” webpage to see an in-depth breakdown of how the CSUN Student Union Fee is used to fund exciting events, diversity & inclusion initiatives, student employment opportunities, USU maintenance and support staff and much more. You may also visit our USU Board of Directors website to get personally involved, make important decisions for all Matadors and be part of a lasting legacy of leadership.
