Dear Campus Community:

We hope you have had a safe and healthy summer, and that it has been time well spent relaxing with family and friends.

The start of the semester is around the corner and some of you have asked about COVID-19 protocols for fall. For the fall, the well-being of our campus community is paramount, and our campus health and safety procedures and practices continue unchanged from the summer months.

Masking
CSUN requires masks to be worn in classrooms, laboratories and the University Library. The wearing of masks is strongly recommended, but not required, in all other indoor spaces and outdoors.

Daily Health Screening Survey
Everyone coming to campus must complete a health screening survey prior to arriving at campus.

Vaccinations and Boosters
In compliance with the California State University’s COVID-19 vaccination policy, all students enrolling in in-person or hybrid classes must certify full vaccination and, if eligible, booster shot status. Medical or religious exemption may be requested. If you have not already done so, please visit the COVID-19 Information page to self-certify your vaccination status or request an exemption.

COVID-19 Information page
All COVID-19 policies and protocols now can be found on the COVID-19 Information page.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our campus community safe and healthy. We wish you a productive and rewarding semester ahead.

Best wishes,

Mary Beth Walker, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
William Watkins, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
Colin Donahue, Vice President for Administration and Finance & CFO
