Make A Splash at the SRC with the Aquatics Department

Northridge — The aquatics department at the Student Recreation Center has a wide variety of great classes available to SRC members this fall. Whether you are looking to improve your swimming skills or become a certified lifeguard, the SRC has the right class for you.

“No matter your age or skill level, the aquatics department has a class to fit your needs,” said Aquatics Coordinator, Ryan Hairapetian. “From group, private and semi- private lessons to lifeguard certifications, fun swim challenges, children’s lessons and other activities.”

SRC members can learn the basics of swimming techniques in the adult beginner class, enhance their skills in the adult intermediate class or get certified for water safety skills through the lifeguard training course. You can also get certifications in CPR, First Aid and AED taught with American Red Cross techniques. 

The SRC Swim Challenge awards participants for each distance milestone reached based on the number of laps they swim. Children and grandchildren of SRC members can take classes to become better swimmers and more confident in the water at an early age.
