We are very excited to announce that in Spring 2014 the Department of Political Science will be offering a special section of POLS 471A (on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:45) taught by former Governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle. You may know that Governor Lingle is a CSUN alumnus. She began her political career as a member of the Maui County Council and served 8 years as the Mayor of Maui County before serving as Governor of Hawaii from 2002 – 2010.
Governor Lingle’s seminar will be focused on leadership in the public sector and public policy and it will feature a variety of guest speakers with extensive experience leading public organizations and working on all manner of public policy problems at the state and national levels. It will be an unparalleled opportunity for students interested in a career in government, politics, and public policy.
If you are interested in enrolling in this class, you should fill out the attached application and submit the application to the Political Science Department Office in Sierra Hall (SH) 210. The application asks for your major, your GPA, and for a brief statement on why you’re interested in this class and how it is related to your professional/career goals. Full consideration will be given to applications received by November 12 but we continue to accept applications. If you have an interest in a career in politics and public policy, we encourage you to apply to be part of this special seminar.
