CSUN Shine From Within

CSUN Shine From Within

The selection of 16 staff members to the 2015-2016 CSUN Shine From Within Cohort was celebrated at a Kick-Off Reception with the cabinet at the Orange Grove Bistro on August 26, 2015.

Provost Yi Li welcomed the cohort members and their supervisors. The staff members selected to participate in this year's program were nominated by their respective cabinet member with input from divisional leadership.

Among the program's focus is developing the cohort as a team of colleagues from across divisions that can call on each other throughout their career at CSUN, developing core competencies and investing participants more deeply in the mission of the University.

This year's program will culminate in the cohort developing and presenting to the cabinet, a program that can be implemented campus-wide.

You can learn more about CSUN Shine From Within and the names of the 2015-2016 Cohort Members by visiting the CSUN Shine From Within webpage.

A Message from Associate Vice President, Kristina de la Vega

Kristina de la Vega

Dear Colleagues:

As we approach the midpoint of the Fall Semester, I hope you find yourself still energized by the excitement of this academic year, proud of all that you've achieved in these past few weeks, and invigorated to accomplish all that remains. With our expanding student population, it is important for each and every one of us to actively understand how the work we do impacts the success of our students.

On Thursday, October 29th Dr. William Watkins, Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students will share his insights on understanding the current CSUN students, where they come from, and their general trajectory through their tenure at the University. Dr. Watkins' Understanding and Helping Students will help each of us to better guide our students toward success.

In Human Resources we are always examining the work we do and how we do it – with the end goal of providing seamless service to all faculty and staff so that you can concentrate your efforts on providing service to students. That is just one of the ways we support student success.

If you ever have any questions, concerns, or suggestions on how we can better assist you, please feel free to contact us. Don't forget to review your benefits during Open Enrollment or to explore all of the workshops and sessions available to you as part of Professional and Personal Development

Best,

Kristina
