Videoing lab activities
You may wish to use a video camera on a tripod to video demonstrations and experiments so the entire class can see more easily. Rather than recording, simply send the message to a computer that is connected to the projector. Video cameras may have the following video outputs
- Firewire - IEEE-1394; the standard for transferring digital video from camera to the computer and back again.
- Analog Video - Analog video capture works by transforming the analog video signal with a hardware device into a digital signal that can be saved on computer. Many data projectors have analog video inputs and you can therefore send your video directly from the camera to the projector. If you wish to record the video on the computer, you will first need to send the analog signal into a digitizer before it is imported to your computer.
- USB - Note: USB is generally useful only for transferring still images (jpgs)
