FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge — The Pride Center of the University Student Union (USU) invites all interested members of the LGBTQIA+ community to come and connect online via Zoom with the queer and/or trans* community for an empowering dialogue during “QTPOC Conversations” and “T-Time”. Every other Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., those who identify as queer and/or trans* people of color here at CSUN can come together bi-weekly with “QTPOC Conversations” to discuss the complexities of identity and engage in topical discussions to empower you. In addition, every Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., “T-Time” is a weekly gathering for transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, and gender questioning students to encourage and motivate all identities here at CSUN. You can attend both online meetings via Zoom.

“During COVID-19, the Pride Center is still committed to supporting our queer and/or trans* community here at CSUN,” says Whitney Workman, Pride Center Supervisor. “We want to provide these important groups with an easily accessible virtual safe space
online where they will feel connected even in these challenging times.”

“QTPOC Conversations” is for queer and/or trans* students of color to share their own experiences, find and build community with each other, and talk about important topics pertaining to being QTPOC. “T-Time” is for students to trans* students to feel welcomed and network with Matadors just like them. These online meetings are a great opportunity for participants to catch up with their friends during this self-isolation period and still feel empowered to be who they are in a safe space with the virtual community.

Come experience an accepting and welcoming space where queer and/or trans* students can network and share trans-specific experiences at “QTPOC Conversations” and “T-Time”. Those interested in participating can fill out a form on the Pride Center website to receive a weekly invitation to the Zoom meetings.
