Connect Online with “Out” Professionals during the Pride Center’s “Queer in Your Career” Web Series

Northridge— The Pride Center of the University Student Union (USU) invites all Matadors in the LGBTQIA+ community to participate in Queer in Your Career, an exciting virtual networking opportunity. From Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24, the Pride Center will be posting a new web series on YouTube featuring informative Q&A videos with established professionals who are now “out” in the workplace. In addition, there will be an exciting Instagram Live with Siobhan Cullen, Manager, Equity and Diversity Compliance that will take place on Monday, April 20th at 3pm. All participants can learn from the unique perspectives of a variety of professionals offering their advice on how to navigate your job search and career path confidently. 

“The Pride Center wants provide a strong networking connection within the LGBTQIA+ community for all of our students,” says Whitney Workman, Pride Center Supervisor. “This week-long series allows experienced professionals to share what their journeys have looked like while answering the questions of soon-to-be graduates entering the workforce.” 

Queer in Your Career encourages all participants to join the Pride Center on YouTube to learn the best tips on being “out” and excelling in your career. It’s a special opportunity for students to receive guidance from working professionals in a range of industries and how they’ve accomplished their goals. The web series includes a selection of YouTube videos in which professionals will answer student-submitted questions and share their own career stories. 

Check-out the Pride Center’s annual Queer in Your Career gone virtual for the best advice on how to fulfill your ambitions. Everyone participating can also look forward to seeing the YouTube video series being shared on the Pride Center’s social media.
